SPOTLIGHT. ‘Haranas’ at District 7

CLARIFICATION. The Sugboanong Musikero wants to make this clarification. It is NOT selling tickets to its Dec. 2 fund-raising concert titled “Pasiawit: Paskohanong Dalit.” The club is now raising the needed funds through sponsorships, not by selling tickets. Lead founder Gitoy Ornopia Jr. would always emphasize that by not selling tickets, many music lovers would be able to watch the show for free at SM Seaside City. “Pasiawit” starts at exactly 4 p.m.

RESTOBAR.

I commend my good friend Rady Abarintos and his business partners for promoting Cebuano songs and talents by giving them the chance to be seen and heard every Tuesday night in District 7 restobar. The place is inside City Time Square near Parkmall in Mandaue City. Abarintos said that Tuesdays are for Cebuano songs, including haranas, so that local solo artists, not necessarily band performers, are showcased and spotlighted on.

DINNER.

For P350 only, one can already enjoy a sumptuous dinner plus an array of delightful songs to be rendered by the talented officers and members of the Cebu United Radio and Television Artists Corp. The dinner's proceeds are for the club's medical aid program. I'm encouraging the general public to watch the show and help a worthy cause. It's on Oct. 21 at Sacred Heart Center on D. Jakosalem St. You may text me for your tickets.

ANTHEM.

That LGBT advocate whose very lewd “dance” number to the tune of “Lupang Hinirang” went viral should be penalized. What she did was a complete insult to the national anthem. It is now up to the authorities what kind of punishment they would impose on that LGBT advocate. (For comments, text 0932-277-8771)
