The Cebu Technological University Graduate school faculty flew to Taiwan to link up with universities in Kaohsiung. Edu-connext Southeast Asia of Taiwan, spearheaded by its Executive Director Dr. Eing Ming Wu facilitated the meetings among academic leaders with four major universities: I-Shou University, Shu-Te University, National Kaohsiung University for Applied Sciences, and National Kaohsiung University for Hospitality and Tourism. “We will strengthen our partnership with universities of Taiwan as they are the ones that are very open and willing to make joint efforts with us,” said Dr. Rosein A. Ancheta, Jr., the President of CTU.

The Cebu Technological University (CTU) graduate school faculty flew to Taiwan for academic collaborations with universities from Kaohsiung last Aug. 26 to 31. The Edu-connect Southeast Asia of Taiwan, spearheaded by its executive director, Eing Ming “Tim” Wu, ushered the meetings of the CTU faculty and four major universities of Kaohsiung: I-Shou University, Shu-te University, National Kaohsiung Universities for Applied Sciences (KUAS), and National Kaohsiung University for Hospitality and Toursim (NKUHT).
“We will strengthen our partnership with universities of Taiwan as they are the ones that are very open and willing to make joint efforts with us,” said Rosein Ancheta Jr., CTU president.
CTU vice-president for academic affairs Victor Villaganas represented the president in the talks with the universities. The memorandum of understanding was signed last Aug. 28. Among the provisions is for CTU to serve as host university in the Philippines for the bachelor/graduate program offerings of I-Shou University and vice versa.
Shu-te University offered opportunities for partnership in design trainings; while KUAS, which has technological degree programs, is a good match for a technological university like CTU. Finally, NKHT presented its world-class hospitality and tourism facilities.
Hamastar Technology proposed an incubator center in CTU last Aug. 30. Hamastar general manager Szu-Yuan Sun said that CTU is one of the three Philippine universities the company could support for start-up business incubation.
