- RCM

After a harrowing experience last season, Franz Dione Dysam showed he has fully recovered from an ACL injury and made the 2017 CSCC E-League AllStar day his own playground, winning the All-Star MVP and the 3-point shootout title last Saturday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Dysam scored 14 points to top the 3-point shootout over Joirene Salcedo of SupportSave Dragons by six shots.

In the All-Star game, the former Letran Knights guard registered the best-ever E-League AllStar performance as he led Team B with 68 points en route to a 12479 win over Team A.

Team B was quick to build a 32-20 lead after the first quarter before they made it 52-40 at the end of the first half.

Team A rode on the efforts of Archie Batua of Accenture Sharks, Robert Castro Jr. of Contact Solutions Flying Lemurs and Salcedo to cut the lead to two points, 65-63, at the start of the fourth period.

However, just as everybody expected a close contest in the final quarter, Dysam led Team B to a mind-boggling 59-16 blast to complete the 45-point winning margin.

Dysam also had two rebounds, one assist and five steals and was named All-Star MVP. Pol Alfeche of Wipro Tigers added 16 points for Team B, which earned P10,000 for winning the game.

Batua led Team A scorers with 24 points, Castro added 13 and Salcedo finished with 10 markers.

Dysam also got P1,000 for his All-Star MVP award and a load of gift certificates and cash incentives from the tournament sponsors for making the most shots from the specially marked spots for Tuff, Zenovia, Marriott and Tanduay.

The Skills Challenge was won by Clarence Torre of Accenture, who finished the course in 23.02 seconds, which is seven seconds clear from second placer Gharde Malinao of Contact Solutions. The 2-ball title went to Jhoniel Geraldizo and Paul Sanchez of Sykes Pioneers, who scored a total of 41 points, 15 points ahead of second finisher Daryl Yap and John Anthony Yap of Telstra Boomerangs. /
