JONATHAN KEVIN LIM
Emcee/Radio jock/ Mr. Chinatown 2017 Finalist
“I’m wearing a kimono by Wilson Limon over my favorite high-neck muscle shirt from Oxygen. I feel ill at ease stepping out with just a T-shirt on (it’s so dreadfully casual), so I make it a point to layer. It’s also an effective way of dealing with the unpredictable Cebu weather. When picking out an outfit to wear, I go for solid colors with always these three: an avant-garde cut, a slim fit, and that one detail that sets it apart. If I find a shirt that fits me well, I get it in three different colors, so I know I look good in each of them!” 1 Hat - SM Accessories 2 Kimono - Niñofranco by Wilson Limon 3 Black shirt and cotton jeans - Oxygen 4 Ankle boots - Gibi 5 Tasseled bead bracelet - Piraso Check out Jonathan’s style tips:
■ A good fit is everything. Even an expensive shirt can look frumpy if it doesn’t fit your proportions well.
■ Better to be overdressed than underdressed, I always say. Take sartorial risks while knowingly drawing a line between edgy and vulgar.
■ Appearance before comfort. I live by this mantra: Anybody can see how good you look, but nobody has to know how uncomfortable you really feel. ■ Invest in a good, tailor-made suit or barong (or suit barong) from time to time.
■ Remember to clean your shoes before you go out. It takes no time at all to polish your leathers or to rub some white toothpaste on your rubber sneakers.
