A dining experience for the senses

- MARYMIL M. CABRERA / Writer

The eyes are the windows to the soul. They are not only important in seeing into another person’s soul but they are also vital in how people view the world around them. Cebu City Marriott Hotel in partnership with Eye Society Inc. held a unique and highly sensorial dining experience called Dinner In the Dark that featured an exquisite four- course meal prepared by Thai Executive Chef Chachpol Suaisom.

Guests were blindfolded while enjoying the perfectly curated four- course meal in a dim-lit room. The senses— smell, touch, sound, and of course taste of each guest— were heightened as dining instructors, guided one through the aromas, textures and flavors of the superb meal.

Dinner in the Dark aims to raise awareness of blindness, visual impairment, and the detection, prevention and solution of loss of sight. Proceeds from these dinners go to Eye Bank Foundation Philippines, a non-profit, and non- government organization committed to its mission of bringing the gift of sight to corneally blind individuals through corneal transplants.

Join this one- of-a-kind dining experience on Oct. 14 and help fight blindness. All single receipt transactions worth P10,000 and up at any Eye Society Boutique will be entitled to two slots for Dinner In The Dark.

Eye Society is located at Robinsons Galleria Cebu and SM Seaside City Cebu.
