FRANCHISE NEWS ‘Rush Hour 4’ may happen; ‘Furious’ reaction
Here’s good news for fans of a popular franchise film: “Rush Hour 4” may be happening. And the “may” part depends on one-half of the lead star duo: Chris Tucker.
“For the last seven years, we’ve been turning down the script, turning down the script. Yesterday, we just agreed,” Jackie Chan said in a radio interview. “The script probably at the end of this month will have a second draft and next year, (we’ll) probably start.”
“...If Chris Tucker agrees,” Chan followed up.
But the 63-year-old martial artist clarified that the 46-year- old funny man is not holding out for more money.
“It’s not about money! It’s about (having the) time to make. Otherwise, ‘Rush Hour 4’ we’re all old men. I tell Chris Tucker, ‘Before we get old, please do ‘Rush Hour 4,’” Chan added.
It hasn’t been good for franchise films of late. The third installment of “Sex and the City” has been officially shelved while the ninth film for the “Fast and Furious” franchise has been pushed back to a 2020 release date.
Tyrese Gibson may have just spilled the beans on why the upcoming “Fast and the Furious” film has just been postponed.
Gibson called out his co-star, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, for making the franchise about him. The postponement was due to the spinoff that would star Johnson, Jason Statham and “Fate of the Furious” baddie Charlize Theron.
“#PSA. Congratulations to ( Johnson) and your brother-in-law aka 7 bucks producing partner for making the ‘Fast and the Furious’ franchise about YOU--And like you, DJ even if they call, I will not be deleting this post,” Gibson said on Instagram.
“If you move forward with that #Hobbs Movie you will have purposely ignored the heart to heart moment we had in my sprinter,” Gibson continued. “I don’t wanna hear from you until you remember what we talked about. I’m on your timeline cause you’re not responding to my text messages – #FastFamily is just that a family...
