Military and police officials assured there is no destabilization plan against President Rodrigo Duterte in Central Visayas.

Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 Director Jose Espino dismissed reports of some police officers who are allegedly planning to unseat the president.

Espino said that police force in Central Visayas are in “high morale” in doing their duties and responsibilities to maintain peace and order.

“Here in PRO 7, we don’t have that. The PNP here is one with the programs of our administration and there are not talks that we are disgruntled and we will do some destab (destabilization). The policemen here are in high morale doing their tasks,” said the PRO 7 top official Espino.

Armed Forces of the Philippines Central Command (AFP-Centcom) spokesperson Col. Medel Aguilar said that the military was thankful for the support they are getting from the government.

“Those are just talks, there are no destabilization plans here in the Visayas. The most important thing is that we are feeling the support of the people because they see the sacrifices of our soldiers,” said Aguilar.

Aguilar said that Centcom members can talk about issues but it would be limited to their level of competence and authority.

“We do not go into politics,” he said. /
