Talisay dad endorses group’s accreditation
The head of the Talisay City Association of Barangay Councils (ABC) will recommend the approval of the City of Talisay Federation of Homeowners’ Association’s (CT-FEDHOA) accreditation by the City Council tomorrow.
ABC President Raul Cabañero said he will resubmit his committee report on the matter even without the other councilors’ blessing.
Cabañero said he was disappointed that his colleagues, particularly Vice Mayor Alan Bucao, placed the blame on him over the CT-FEDHOA’s decision to file cases against them before the Office of the Ombudsman-Visayas.
Cabañero, who chairs the committee on accreditation of people’s organizations, said he felt that his colleagues left him in a difficult situation.
“It seems that we are slowly falling apart because they left me hanging,” he said.
The Bulacao village chief, who serves as an ex-officio member of the council, said he saw signs of cracks in Bucao’s leadership when Talisay City Councilor Doroteo Emit was stripped of his chairmanship of the committee on urban poor and housing.
Majority of the city councilors are allies of the Alayon Party.
Cabañero said he is ready to submit his committee report even if it will signal the end of his being part of the majority bloc.
He is also prepared if the body decides to remove his committee chairmanships.
“Because that’s what really happens when people go against them,” he added.
Bucao and the nine councilors, including Cabañero, were sued by the members of CT-FEDHOA last week. They alleged that the council is deliberately delaying their accreditation.
But Bucao earlier said that the council can’t approve CT-FEDHOA’s accreditation yet because there was no committee report submitted for approval. /
