Talisay police to get 2 more vehicles

- JKV

Talisay City Mayor Eddie Gullas has approved the local police’s request for two new vehicles.

Gullas said he approved the request during a meeting with Supt. Jason Villamater, head of the Talisay City Police, and his personnel last week.

Villamater asked for two additional vehicles, one marked and the other unmarked, for their operations.

The unmarked vehicle will be used during surveillance and monitoring operations while the marked vehicle will be used for mobile patrols.

Villamater said their office currently have two vehicles but these are not enough.

He said there were times when their personnel couldn’t immediately respond to incidents because they don’t have enough vehicles.

He thanked the mayor for approving their request.

He said the two vehicles will be a big help in their operations.

Gullas said he already instructed Budget Officer Edgar Mabunay to look for funds for the police’s request.

The mayor also plans to convince the Talisay City Council to pass a supplemental budget before the year ends so the purchase of additional vehicles will be covered.

Performance

Gullas praised Villamater, a former batallion commander of the elite Special Action Force, for his performance since he assumed office a month ago.

Under Villamater’s watch, the murder of May Azalia Albasin was solved following the arrest of her murderer, Leo Zafra, two weeks ago.

Gullas earlier assured the local police that the City Government will support its programs and projects as long as Villamater makes sure that the city’s peace and order situation remains stable. /
