CCTO TO REROUTE TRAFFIC FOR MARIAN PROCESSION

Cebu City Hall will field more than 30 personnel from the quick response team to respond to emergencie­s. The Cebu City Police Office, for their part, will field 172 cops who will secure the three-kilometer procession route.

Motorists are reminded about the road closure and to take note of the traffic rerouting plan in Cebu City for the Grand Marian Procession on Friday, Oct. 13.

The Cebu City Transporta­tion Office (CCTO) announced that there will be a temporary traffic rerouting from Capitol area passing along Osmeña Bvld. to Basilica del Sto. Niño starting at 7:30 p.m.

The candleligh­t procession in celebratio­n of the “Fatima Centenary” will kick off at 8 p.m. at the Provincial Capitol en route to the pilgrim center of the Basilica where a holy mass will be officiated by Archbishop Jose Palma.

All public utility jeepneys (PUJ) coming from Guadalupe going to Carbon Area shall take V. Rama Ave., turn left to J. Alcan- tara St. or at N. Bacalso Ave., turn right to Leon Kilat St., turn left to Magallanes St., turn left to Borromeo St., turn left to Sanciangko St., turn right to Panganiban St., turn left to N. Bacalso Ave., turn right to V. Rama Ave. and proceed to their usual route to their point of origin.

PUJs coming from Alumnos, Bulacao, Pardo, and Labangon passing along Colon St. shall turn right to Leon Kilat St., to Magallanes St. and proceed to their usual route going to their point of origin.

Passenger jeepneys coming from Barangays Bulacao, Pardo, and Labangon passing along N. Bacalso Ave. shall turn right to Leon Kilat St., turn right to Sanciangko St. or Borromeo St., then to their usual route going to their point of origin.

Passenger jeepneys coming from Lahug, Apas and Ayala passing along N. Escario St. shall turn left to Juana Osmeña St., turn right to Gen. Maxilom Ave., turn left to F. Ramos St., turn right to Junquera St., turn right to Sanciangko St., turn right to Pelaez St., then proceed to R.R. Landon St., turn left to D. Jakosalem St., turn left to Gen. Maxilom Ave., turn right to Juana Osmeña St., turn right to N. Escario St. and proceed to their usual route to their point of origin.

Private vehicles coming from the south going to Capitol and Lahug shall follow Duterte St. or V. Rama Ave. then to their point of destinatio­n.

Private vehicles coming from the north going to Capitol or up- town area via M. J. Cuenco Ave. may turn right to Juan Luna Ave., turn left to Gorordo Ave., turn right to M. Gaisano St. or N. Escario St., then to their point of destinatio­n.

Cebu City Police Office operations chief Supt. David Señor said they will field 172 police personnel to man the three-kilometer procession route.

The City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CCDRRMO) will also field 38 members of their quick response team and will have four ambulances on standby at the intersecti­ons on Osmeña Blvd.

Harold Alcontin, CCDRRMO operations head, said that Plaza Independen­cia was designated as an evacuation area in case of an emergency. /
