U-HOP OFFERS CAR POOLING IN METRO CEBU
New transportation appli-cation is homegrown
A new car pooling scheme will soon be in Metro Cebu. Homegrown app TNC- certified U-Hop, in partnership with Empire Alliance, is featuring social carpooling rides in metro Cebu. One may choose among SUV, sedan, van and luxury van that can sit up to seven people at a time. U-hop aims to provide a solution that could lessen traffic at the same time provide a convenient, safe and efficient to commuters without implementing “surge pricing” after studying the traffic problems in the country thoroughly and researching since 2001. “The traffic in the Philippines is getting worse as year goes by due to a lot of reasons. And one of the answer that we initially thought that could help to lessen the problem is by decreasing the cars that passing by the roads through carpooling,” said Arlene Cabangon, U-Hop’s vice president for technology.

Cebuano commuters can now enjoy the convenience of carpooling as U-hop pools passengers with the same pick-up and drop-off points and assigns them to a certain vehicle. One may choose among SUV, sedan, van and luxury van that can sit up to seven people at a time.
