TRIATHLON Cebuanos jr. triathlete­s dominate Ormoc 101

Cebuano junior triathlete­s asserted their dominance in the Ormoc 101 Triathlon, as they finished with a clean sweep in the boys’ and girls’ 14-16 years old category at the Ormoc City Plaza last Saturday.

Renz Wynn Corbin and junior national team member Karen Andrea Manayon topped the boys’ and girls’ divisions.

Corbin clocked 36 minutes and 18.30 seconds in the 400-meter swim, 10-kilometer run and 3K bike to win the boys’ division. Charles Jeremiah Lipura clocked 36:25.18 for second place and Psalm Aquino had a time of 39:29.21 to round up the boys’ Top 3.

Manayon of Talisay City reigned in the girls’ division after clocking 39:22.08. Cebu’s Moira Frances Erediano of Lapu-Lapu City finished second in 40:15.25, while Cebu’s Nicole del Rosario came in 41:56.31 to complete Cebu’s sweep.

Cebu’s Marielle Estreba won the girls’ 13-14 class after clocking 28:57 in the 300-meter swim, 8K bike and 3K run. Jeanna Mariel Canete and Philline Louise Tabudlong had times of 29:39 and 30:37 to take second and third places, respective­ly.

RS Edillor topped the boy’s division in 28:52, beating Jacob Kennedy Lipura and Ivan Delica, who finished at 28:53 and 29:26.

The champions in the 9-be- low division were Rafael Jopson (15:54) in the boys’ class and Caitriona Danelle Vasquez (16:39) in the girls’ class.

Van Wincy Pagnanawon (16:15) and Patrick Lance Saladaga (16:51) were the runners-up in the boys’ class.

Bea Therese Batoto (19:27) and Charlene Sutyla (20:18) in the girls’ division.
