The SHDA-CV Housing Summit 2017
As the demand for housing increases each year, both leading and upand-coming developers step up to the challenge of providing quality, sustainable homes. Themed “The Housing Industry: Responding to the Call for Change,” this year’s Subdivision and Housing Developers Association-Central Visayas (SHDA-CV) Housing Summit gathered once again the region’s top stakeholders, decisionmakers, real estate experts and government officials for more fruitful discussions on how to address the need of the market.
The first part of the summit was the Housing Fair and Exhibit held last Oct. 7 to 10 at Ayala Center Cebu. The exhibitors were Pacific Land Ventures and Property Development Inc., Filinvest Land Inc., Cebu Landmasters Inc., Deo Homes and Property Development Inc., AppleOne Properties Inc., 8990 Housing Development Corp., AboitizLand Inc., Primary Homes Inc., Pacific Grande Realty and Development Corp., Limbros Realty and Development Corp., RFK Holdings Inc., King Properties Inc., SHDA-CV, Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB) and Pag-IBIG Fund.
On Oct. 17, the Housing Conference at the Grand Convention Center of Cebu dedicated an entire day to shedding light on various topics concerning the industry. SHDACV president Dennis Quiokeles said it best in his welcome address: “We are not merely peddling goods, or producing something material. We are in the vocation of developing communities, and providing roofs over Filipinos’ heads.”

Steve Dicdican, MCIA general manager; Primer: New Urbanism, Fire and Life Safety by Engr. The presentation of the new SHDA-CV logo and induction of new members were also held during the conference.
