Cadets urge youth to enter PNPA
The Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) is inviting aspiring police officers, jail officers and firefighters to take the entrance examination this Sunday.
Cadet Stephen Abrica encouraged the youth to join the academy, saying it can mold them to become officials in the PNP, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
“The academy will open new opportunities for you to become a better public servant to your countrymen,” he said.
Abrica, who hails from Barangay Basak San Nicolas, Cebu City, was inspired by his father to become a government official.
“The training was hard but as time passed by, I could already see the good opportunities that the academy has presented to me,” he said.
Brothers Feb and Jec Seares, for their part, said that entering the academy was their childhood dream.
“I really wanted to enter the academy. I was discouraged at first because of my height but I still pushed through,” the 24-year-old Feb said.
Jec, 22, said that he was inspired by his brother to join.
“I want to graduate and serve Cebu because it’s much better if a Cebuano will lead here,” he said.
Those who can apply for the PNPA must be 18 to 22 and at least 5’5” for males and 5’2” for females.
The entrance examination will be held in the University of Cebu-Banilad Campus. /
