Developer hopes to meet H&L demand

While urban locations like Mandaue City have become a ground for vertical developments, a new property player will expand horizontally.

Universal Asset Land Realty Inc. announced that it will build 169 house-and-lot units in a 3.2-hectare property in Barangay Casuntingan, Mandaue City, of which 100 units have been sold prior to its grand launching last Thursday.

The project is named Crescent Ville North Casuntingan, a spin off of its first project, Crescent Ville, in the town of Minglanilla.

“Even with a lot of vertical projects now in the city, Cebuanos still prefer to own house and lot,” said Universal Asset Land Realty sales and marketing manager Yen Catacutan.

She said Crescent Ville in Mandaue has largely attracted the overseas Filipino market, as well as investors who are looking to lease the purchased houses. The subdivision project is positioned for the middle to high-end market, with units sold from P3 million to P5 million.

To cater to more horizontal housing needs, Catacutan said the company has another property in Mandaue City that it will start development soon to replenish the inventory of horizontal housing in the city As a new developer with two existing projects to date, the official said Universal Asset Land Realty banks on prime locations to attract buyers.

“We will also venture into vertical (projects) in two years,” Catacutan said. /
