BASKETBALL Panthers extend run

Defending champion Panthers beat the Bulldogs, 61-55, to take the solo lead in Week 4 of the Elite Basketball Club-Cebu Season 10 at the Visayas Glass Gym in Guadalupe, Cebu City.

The Panthers were led by Prince Panes, who had 16 points and former Southwestern University Cobras, Mark Panerio, who scored 14 markers. The Panthers improve to 4-0 card and remain as the only unbeaten team in the tournament.

The Bulldogs, who dropped to 3-1 card, was led by John Paciencia with 14 markers.

The Sharks, meanwhile, posted a 78-58 rout over the Rams. Paul Salarda led the winning team with 16, while John Cabahug and Cebu First District Representative Samsam Gullas added 13 apiece.

The Rams were led by Mark Lubiano and Mark Matidios, who had 15 and 10 points, respectively.

In the other games, the Turtles beat the Stallions, 56-45; the Tigers defeated the Wolvers, 94-78; and the Cheetahs won via default against Lions. /
