The Cebu Bonsai Society recently celebrated its 40th anniversary with an exhibit at Ayala Center Cebu, Activity Center. Guest of honor was the Japanese consul, Chiharu Tsuruoka, and special guest was a bonsai lecturer from Taiwan, Tang Chin Feng, who also gave a bonsai making demonstration. Other guests included bonsai fanciers from the Philippine Bonsai Society (Cebu’s mother club) and from Bacolod, Davao City, South Cotabato, Negros Oriental and Bohol. Alansolon says bonsai lectures and demonstrations are a regular activity of the Cebu Bonsai Society which now has about 50 members.
