The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7 arrested a Korean national and his 22-year-old Filipina girlfriend in a buy-bust inside a hotel in Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City last Friday night. Seized from Kyong Don Kim and Maria Adora Wenceslao were shabu worth P50,000. According to PDEA 7 spokesperson Leia Albiar, Wenceslao was the subject of the operation. Kim acted as her financier. Albiar said they received reports that the two mostly catered to pimps and foreigners, especially Koreans. The hotel will also be investigated. “The hotel was not too strict. If you’re a hotel staff, wouldn’t you wonder why there were so many people who was in and out of that room?” Albiar said.

A Korean national and his 22-year-old Filipina girlfriend were arrested in a buy-bust by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7 inside a hotel in Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City last Friday evening.

Suspected shabu worth P50, 000 were confiscated from Maria Adora Wenceslao and Korean national, Kyong Don Kim, 44, at 8:30 p.m.

“A concerned citizen reported to us their operations. They had been staying long in the hotel and that was where their customers got their shabu stash,” PDEA 7 spokesperson Leia Albiar, said.

Albiar said that they received reports that Wenceslao and Kim’s customers were pimps and foreigners, especially Koreans.

Wenceslao was the subject of the operation. Kim allegedly acted as her financier, Albiar said.

“They both have no jobs but they can rent a hotel room for that period of time,” Albiar said.

Wenceslao was placed under one week of surveillance.

“She was the one running the business. She handed the shabu to the customer but Kim was also arrested because he also had illegal drugs in his possession,” she said.

PDEA 7 is also planning to ask the hotel where the two stayed for some information, especial-

ly that the suspects stayed there long and no one noticed.

“The hotel was not too strict. If you’re a hotel staff, wouldn’t you wonder why there are so many people who get in and out of that room?,” Albiar said.

PDEA 7 said it has not monitored any organized Korean drug group so far.

“Those we arrested were operating individually,” Albiar said.

Wenceslao will face charges for selling drugs while Kim for having shabu in his possession.

Last Wednesday, a Korean National and his alleged girlfriend were also caught having shabu and other regulated drugs.

Operatives seized a pack of “shabu,” 36 Zolpidem tablets, 15 Diazepam tablets and 68 various tablets from Wei-Rak Son, 39, and Crisel Claire Ferolino, 24, in a hotel room in Barangay Kamputhaw.
