'ROBBER' ARRESTED AFTER AVOIDING CHECKPOINT

A suspect in several robberies in Mandaue City and Cebu City was arrested after he avoided a checkpoint in Barangay Banilad, Mandaue City last Thursday dawn. Police had to chase Mark Anthony Luchen, 32,of Talamban, before they arrested him. Police said they flagged down a motorcycle driver who was not wearing a helmet at 2:30 a.m. The man turned out to be Luchen. Police said they later found out that Luchen was a robbery suspect. One victim identified him as the culprit. Police recovered a gun and two sachets of shabu.
