Moving the Sinulog 2018 festivities to the South Road Properties will make it easier to manage, Chief Insp. Christopher Navida, head of the Intelligence Branch of the Cebu City Police Ofice (CCPO), said yesterday. “If the celebration of parties will be concentrated in one or two places, mas madali nang i- secure. Just like last year, the whole area of Cebu City were covered by our personnel,” said Navida. Last year, the CCPO tapped force multipliers as additional security detail for the Sinulog. It’ll be easier for authorities to stand guard over partygoers if parties during the Sinulog 2018 will be held in the South Road Properties, a city police official suggested yesterday.

Chief Insp. Christopher Navida, head of the Intelligence Branch of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), said that if the people will be concentrated in one place, the police can watch over them more closely. Last year, the CCPO tapped force multipliers as additional security detail for the Sinulog.

For Sinulog Foundation Inc. executive director Ricky Ballesteros, designating an area at the SRP for party organizers and booze sellers will not only make the 2018 Sinulog celebration safer for spectators, but for the performers as well.

Since most of the performers are children and minors, Ballesteros said parties must be kept away from the parade route, so that the street dancers can execute their performances with ease. /
