Saramosing delivers for San Fernando

Jhonson Khen Saramosing was all over the court as he put up a near triple-double for San Fernando in their 85-67 win over Minglanill­a in the eliminatio­n round of the Samsam Gullas Cup Season 2 at the Talisay Sports Complex in Talisay City, Cebu last Sunday.

Saramosing flirted with a triple double as he finished with 10 points, eight rebounds and eight assists on top of four steals to lead San Fernando to their first win after losing to City of Naga last Saturday.

Last year’s runner-up Minganilla failed to sustaine its form after beating defending champion Talisay City and dropped to 1-1 slate.

Talisay City, meanwhile, inked its first win against Carcar City, 100-85. Jay Deiparine led the defending champion with explosive performanc­e in both offensive and defensive end.

Deiparine connected with 32 points and had seven steals. He also had three rebounds, one block and one assist. Talisay City now has a 1-1 record, while Carcar City dropped to 0-2 card.

Sibonga kept its record clean after beating City of Naga, 87-78. Gerald Ignacio led Sibonga with 12 points, seven rebounds, two assists and four steals.

The basketball action continues this Friday at the San Fernando Sports Center. Minglanill­a faces City of Naga, Talisay City takes on Sibonga and San Fernando slugs it out with Carcar City. /
