Cebu’s ‘PGT’ hopefuls

- ROGER SERNA rodzsugbo88@gmail.com

AFRIDAY, 24 NOVEMBER 2017 t the live auditions of “Pilipinas Got Talent” at the Centerstage of SM Seaside City Cebu last Nov. 20, I was reminded once again of how lucky we are for the opportunity to rub elbows with the celebrities: judges Freddie M. Garcia or FMG, Angel Locsin, Vice Ganda and Robin Padilla and hosts Billy Crawford and Toni Gonzaga.

Never-before-seen talents and those that bring the Filipino culture to the fore are what will get the nods of FMG and Robin, respectively. Vice and Angel acknowledge the God-given talents of Cebuanos and hoped that this edition’s grand winner will come from Cebu.

*** Inside Centerstage, the audience burst in loud applause when Robin mentioned his movie with megastar Sharon Cuneta, “Unexpectedly Yours,” which opens on Nov. 29. The duo had a brief romance before, remember?

At the presscon facilitated by promo diva Josie Pereyra for the Star Cinema movie last Wednesday, Robin was reportedly candid and realistic about his sentiments on the project. He initially hesitated pairing off with the megastar simply because he feels too old for such stuff.

“Unexpectedly Yours” also stars the fast-rising tandem of Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia. Cathy Garcia-Molina directs.

*** Newly formed Sugbuanong Musikero Inc. led by Gitoy Ornopia Jr. presents Vina Morales, Chad Borja and daughter, Max Surban, Crazy Duo, Dos Compañeros, Rommel Tuico, Nash Casa and Polpol, Fr. Jonas Mijares and the Cebu Clergy Performing Artists in a free concert dubbed Pasiawit: Paskohanong Dalit on Dec. 2 at the City Wing of SM Seaside City Cebu from 4 to 7 p.m.
