■ USJR OPENS NEW BUILDING FOR SENIOR HIGH

The University of San Jose-Recoletos Basak Campus last Nov. 17 inaugurate­d a new building to meet the needs when the senior high school program comes full swing. The six-storey edifice, named after Nuestra Señora de la Salud, was built to accommodat­e a growing number of students. “This building will provide a conducive learning atmosphere for our senior high school students. We take pride in this new building, equipped with only the best facilities,” said university president Rev. Fr. Cristopher Maspara, OAR.

With the senior high school program in full swing, the University of San Jose–Recoletos (USJ-R) Basak Campus inaugurate­d a new building.

The six-storey building, dedicated to senior high school, was built to accommodat­e the increasing number of students in the school. The inaugurati­on was held last Nov. 17 during the feast day of Nuestra Señora de la Salud, after whom the building is named.

“This building will provide a conducive learning atmosphere for our senior high school students. We take pride in this new building, equipped with only the best facilities,” said universi- ty president Rev. Fr. Cristopher Maspara, OAR. He also said that the new building is an expression of optimism and hope for the future, as well as a celebratio­n of another accomplish­ment for the school.

The new edifice has a canteen on the ground floor, library and offices on the second floor, laboratori­es on the third floor and classrooms on the remaining three higher floors. On top of the six main floors is a roof deck, which will be used for gymnastics and physical education classes.
