After Cebu’s successful hosting of the 41st Milo Marathon National Finals, some cities have already shown intent to be the host for the national finals next year. Milo Sports Executive Robbie De Vera said that Laoag City and Cagayan de Oro City have shown intent to host the national finals next year.

“Cebu did a great hosting. Part of our goal is to rotate the hosting in different parts of the country so that provincial places can experience hosting this event,” de Vera said.

Angeles City, Pampanga hosted the national finals in 2015 and was the first place to do it outside of Manila. It was followed by Iloilo City in 2016 and then Cebu City last Sunday.

“This is all to give chance to the runners in provincial areas. The qualifiers on that area don’t need to travel far anymore to compete in the national finals,” said Andrew Neri of Runrio.

De Vera said that the top pri- ority is to share the experience and they will consider these places as candidates to be the host next year.

“We will check on these place. The first thing we will considered is to maintain the class of the national finals, we always want give the runners a world-class event,” he added.

De Vera clarified, thought, that right now there is still no finality on the host place. The organizers will announce as soon as they have selected one. /
