Seven years at Crimson

- MONICA R. LOPEZ / Writer

It’s been seven years since Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan, the flagship property of Filinvest Hospitality, introduced the promise of paradise along with the experience that lingers even after one’s stay.

Upon setting foot inside its gates, guests are welcomed with drinks while greeted with the stunning view of the resort.

Every corner possesses a picture-perfect scene. Take a walk or hitch a ride on one of its gem carts for a speedy tour of the place or a drive to one of the 40 luxurious villas with private plunge pool, or one of its 250 guestrooms set in tropical fashion, all enveloped in manicured patch gardens and trees giving a village-like feeling.

Whether traveling alone, or with family and friends, the resort provides reasons to keep one entertained—all in a list delivered to one’s doorstep in a coconut shell bright and early. Begin the day with a good stretch at Aum Spa with a yoga session, a hearty breakfast at Saffron Café followed by a series of active plays and sports.

Take the tots to Crimzone. It has a pool for kids and adults, a playground and pool bar. Late in the afternoon, watch the sunset while indulging in modern Asian selections while sipping a favorite cocktail by Azure Beach Club. Come dinner, there’s Enye by Chele Gonzalez, a casual dining restaurant serving Spanish specialties both modern and traditional (as well as continental breakfast). End the night with a game of chess or billiards; sing your heart out in the karaoke room or visit Aum Spa for its various holistic treatments and massages.

Last month, it celebrated its seventh anniversary showcasing food, music and unveiling upcoming developments in play with the “Seven Spellbinding Years” celebration.

Before the party, Chroma Hospitality, the managing company of Crimson Hotels and Resorts and Quest Hotels and Resorts, broke ground on a 228-room expansion of Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan that will be called the Crimson Suites.

The tropical-themed shindig last Nov. 11 was attended by local and national media, the heads and leaders of various corporations and VIPs. Dressed in tropical chic, ladies were gifted with flowers for bracelets, or floral headpieces, while the gentlemen completed their look with sun fedora hats. Music was provided by local talents like the Bordario Brothers, the Lupon Anduyo Drumbeaters as well as beats by DJ Eduardo Lara and Christi McGarry.

Apart from the guests getting a taste of the dishes from Crimson’s four restaurants—Azure, Enye, Saffron and Crimzone— the celebration highlighted the three major developments finished this year: Crimzone, the new leisure complex; the newly renovated infinity pool and Enye by Chele Gonzalez.

The anniversary celebration ended with a bang through a grand fireworks display marking the resort’s seven fantastic years and the years to come.
