Japanese language to be taught in Divine Life Institute of Cebu

Homegrown developer Duros Land Properties Inc., (DLPI) has signed a joint venture agreement with a Japanese firm to provide a Japanese language class in the Divine Life Institute of Cebu (DLIC).

DLPI entered into a partnership with Leoc Corp. to integrate a Nihonggo language component in the technical vocational courses of DLIC to enable the skilled graduates to communicate well with Japanese tourists.

DLIC offers grade school to senior high school education as well as technical-vocational courses accredited by Tesda.

Lydwena Eco, DLPI business director, said the Nihonggo class will be beneficial for the DPLI’s township project, especially that it would attract golf enthusiasts from Japan.

A major component of DLPI’s recently launched 200-hectare township project, Northside Beacon, is the 65-hectare golf course.

It inked a partnership with Brick and Wood Golf Club in Chiba, Japan to give members of the Liloan golf course and that of Japan equal playing rights.

Japanese arrivals to Cebu grew by 4.90 percent in the first half of 2017. The Department of Tourism (DOT) 7 said Cebu welcomed 177,664 Japanese tourists from January to June compared to the 169,358 arrivals last year.

Aside from the golf amenity within the township, DLPI is also building condominium towers to be marketed to both local and foreign buyers. /
