Roel fights grief, for break

Though fighting with a heavy heart, Yaw-Yan Ardigma star Roel Rosauro will gun for an impressive finish tonight to get noticed and possibly earn a shot at the bigger leagues.

“I want to end the year with a bang. I dedicate this fight to my father who just passed away,” Rosauro said in a statement. “Hopefully, a win will open big opportunities for me, like fighting in international MMA tournaments.”

The 29-year-old Rosauro is up against Alexander Aballe of Pagadian City’s Yawchedelic MMA in URCC Fight Night BETS at the Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino in Lapu-Lapu City.

Rosauro is coming off a stoppage win against Urtych Alarin in the Cebu Extreme Fight League 2 last February at the Cebu Coliseum.

Three other Cebuanos are seeing action in the card, Giovanie Macasling and Joel Jabonero of CALMA MMA, and Deftac Vagabond Cebu’s Arnel Ylanan.

Macasling takes on Ariel Lampacan of Submission Sports, while his stablemate Jabonero locks horns with Quezon City’s Arvin Chan. Ylanan, meantime, slugs it out with Adonis Sevilleno of Yawsa MMA.

The main event features Fil-Am Mark Striegl against South Korean Kim Ki-Sung.

Also in the show, Ariel Olieros faces off Dave Banguingui, Roque Maha-ay against South Korean Young Bin Kwon, and Charles Sayson squares off with Lucky Mateo. /
