Big Yellow fighters score big wins, pocketing four victories in Bakbakan sa Catmon last Saturday night

The Big Yellow Boys came out big after taking home four wins in “Bakbakan sa Catmon” last Saturday night at the Catmon Sports Complex in Catmon.

Carlo Demecillo, Marjun Pantilgan, Clyde Azarcon and Audie Dacua all walked out with wins in their respective contests.

Demecillo stopped Omega Boxing Gym prospect Jay-Ar Aliasot with a fourth round stoppage.

It was a very competitiv­e fight up until Aliasot suffered an unfortunat­e injury, dislocatin­g his right shoulder.

said Big Yellow Promotions and Boxing Gym team manager Seth Oliver Tio of Demecillo’s performanc­e.

Christophe­r Tepora, who’s now the head trainer of Big Yellow, said that Demecillo is ready for bigger fights.

“If there’s an offer (abroad) that’s good we’ll take it,” he said.

The 21-year-old Demecillo improved to 9-4 with three knockouts, while just suffered his second career defeat and dropped to 6-2 with five knockouts.

In the co-main feature, Pantilgan walked away with a second round stoppage of experience­d Nicong Calamba.

Pantilgan landed a body shot, near the left side of the hip, of Calamba just as referee Nic Banal intervened for a break.

Calamba dropped to the canvass and was wincing in pain from the inadverten­t shot. He was given five minutes to recover by Banal but he didn’t want to continue.

The 23-year-old Pantilagan is now 17-5 with 13 knockouts, while Calamba fell to 8-26-4 with five knockouts.

Azarcon, in the meantime, squeaked past tough RR Borbon of Omega Boxing Gym by split decision in a very competitiv­e fight.

The scores were 77-75, 7874 and 74-78. The 23-year-old Azarcon, who just returned from a layoff, improved to 11-1 with four knockouts, while Borbon slumped to 5-2-1 with five knockouts.

In the undercard, Eric Pulgo (2-0-1, 1 KO) of Big Yellow settled to a draw with a game Rolien Getalada (0-4-1), while Dacua (1-0, 1 KO) had an impressive pro debut with an opening round knockout of Wilfredo Rota (0-1) with a body shot.
