Laugh out loud, everyone!

Do you get that feeling of being just so tired of everything? Work and school can be pretty draining and stressful but we should never forget to look at the bright side of things. I’ve been thinking to myself as to why I am so drained, it’s as though life is just that bad. But really, it’s all just a matter of how I view the situation. I realized that I should just be grateful and take time to laugh while having a good time. As people say, laughter is the best medicine.

Thinking too much about something that makes you down and stressing yourself to the point that it affects your health will only break you. For this reason, we should just breathe and think of happy thoughts. Some of us underestim­ate the power of laughter, but it is what creates balance within us. It makes us feel as though we release negative energy and that we have attracted positive energy. “A good belly laugh leads to the release of endorphins from the brain,” says Michael Miller, director of the Center for Preventive Cardiology at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. A 2005 study by Miller measured the blood flow of 20 volunteers before and after watching a funny movie and a sad movie. After the sad movie, blood flow was more restricted in 14 of the 20 viewers. But after the movie that made them laugh, average blood flow increased by 22 percent. This shows that laughter does relax the whole body. A good, hearty laugh relieves physical tension and stress, as it releases endorphins. It boosts the immune system and improves the function of blood vessels and increases blood flow, which can help prevent a heart attack and other cardiovasc­ular problems.

Do not cry over spilled milk and just pick up a new glass of milk to drink. Have a good laugh and you’ll know that it is worth it. It only takes a few seconds but it will already make you feel better. Surround yourself with people and with activities that can give you a good laugh and make you feel better about life. We only get to live our life once so better live it right. I believe that living our life to the fullest is what life is all about. Let’s all have a good laugh at lease once every day of our life. Who knows, maybe it will also lengthen our life span.
