Biz woman seeks NBI 7’s help v. singer
A businesswoman sought the assistance of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) 7 after she was allegedly duped by a former contestant of a national singing competition into buying a P2.5 million townhouse.
Niña Mabatid, the owner of a migration consultancy firm, went to the NBI 7 headquarters yesterday to file a complaint against Eva Delos Santos and her husband, Ruben David.
“The townhouse was sold to us last year on June 6. All the while we thought that there’s no problem, so when I decided to go to the townhouse a few days ago to use it, I found out that there’s another owner,” said Mabatid.
She said that she paid the full amount of P2.5 million the next day, on June 7, and showed reporters documents like the check as proof of payment.
“I chose to trust them kay kaila mi before niya akong brother kauban niya sa band. She’s a singer. Ang trust nako niya sobra-sobra and I’m even one of her supporters,” she said.
Mabatid said that this was not the only offense that Delos Santos caused her.
“She’s not affiliated with Pinoy Care (Mabatid’s company) because of trust issues kay naa sad silay sala sa kompanya,” she said.
Mabatid and Eva also has an ongoing civil case in court.
She said that she bought the townhouse from Eva to help the latter as they were allegedly having a financial crisis.
In a phone call, Eva told SunStar Cebu that she was not aware of the complaint.
“I am not aware (of the complaint). I have to talk to my lawyer,” she said. /
