BFP 7 LAUNCHES 2ND FIRE TRUCK DECOR TILT
The cities of Cebu, Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu, Carcar, Naga, Talisay and Danao, and the municipalities of San Fernando, Minglanilla, Cordova, Consolacion, Compostela, and Liloan are among the fire stations that joined this year’s decoration contest
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) 7 launched its annual fire truck Christmas decoration competition over the weekend.
Senior Supt. Samuel Tadeo, chief of the BFP Central Visayas, said that the bureau is spreading the Christmas cheer by conducting a unique information drive.
“We are targeting a zero fire-related incident for December just like last year when we first launched this contest,” he said.
The contest will be participated in by the different fire stations from 13 cities and municipalities. These include the cities of Cebu, Mandaue, LapuLapu, Carcar, Naga, Talisay and Danao, and the municipalities of San Fernando, Minglanilla, Cordova, Consolacion, Compostela, and Liloan.
Tadeo said that the competition was pioneered by BFP 7 where fire trucks are adorned with eye-catching colorful Christmas lights and other decorations.
The firetrucks from other sta- tions is set to conduct a parade around Cebu City for the grand contest on Dec. 23. It will also be during this time that the prizes for the winners will be revealed.
During the parade, firefighters will distribute pamphlets with tips for a safe celebrations of Christmas and New Year.
The BFP 7 also advised the public to check their Christmas lights as well as electrical wirings to avoid fires during this Yuletide season. /
