Gaming without playing

It is quite a sweet irony to have a game that plays by itself. Gravity Interactive presents just this in “Ragnarok Journey,” the Ragnarok version for gamers who enjoy the thrill of playing but lack the time for it.

The Ragnarok Journey Cebu launch last Dec. 15 had veteran and neophyte Ragnarok players raving about the game’s new features, like its automatic system. With this, players could finally have their game and play it too, as the new version’s automated feature, or the AI-assisted playing, can enable players to leave their characters to kill monsters and loot for them.

This new gaming venture features the delightful fighting fun many enjoyed ever since the first version of Ragnarok. However, a plus on the hardcore gaming side would be its Player Killing (PK) sys- tem, where players can play realm versus realm. With this, players go on different sides then battle over thousands of people. Top players who defeat over 20 gamers could reap the best items.

Another level up, players could choose a class they can specialize. At Level 10, players could be a Mage or a Swordsman. One’s avatars could also acquire new abilities by adding skill points manually. They could also attack in devastating feats on fantasy monsters, much like the classic Ragnarok Online. Also, the colorful yet dangerous world of Rune Midgard could finally be accessed through downloading and registering via the Puffin browser.

With the best elements of online gaming put into one, this casual Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game or MMORPG could be played through any device that could run a flash based browser.

Gravity has also made it its business to showcase the game’s best through streaming. No longer keeping them a secret, Gravity encourages local streamers to tap them if they want to be broadcasted in their Facebook page. The makers of Ragnarok believe that with the right outlet, streamers could possibly generate subscribers and turn their gaming passion into a legitimate occupation.
