Furniture industry gives back by donating armchairs

-

The Cebu Furniture Industries Foundation Inc. (CFIF) donated armchairs to the Sibugay Integrated School through its donatea-chair program.

Sibugay Integrated School is located in Barangay Pung-ol Sibugay, one of the mountain villages in Cebu City. The teachers, led by assistant school head Juliana Berrame, and pupils welcomed the CFIF team during the ceremonial turnover of the armchairs.

The participating CFIF companies were Catarman Industries Inc, Cebu FilVeneer Corp., Clear Export Industries Inc., Coast Pacific Manufacturing Corp., Cosonsa Manufacturing Corp., Crafters of Cebu Inc., Cymru Fine Furniture, Mehitabel Inc., Obra Cebuana Inc., Pacific Traders & Manufacturing Corp., Stonesets International Inc., Vasacrafts Company Inc., and Uratex Foam.

Alexander Hey, CFIF vice president-internal, said that aside from sharing blessings in this season of giving, CFIF wants to address the problem in the Philippine public schools, which is the lack of armchairs.

“May the new chairs make you want to stay and learn more in school,” Hey told the pupils.

Last July 2017, CFIF, in partnership with the Philippine Business for Social Progress, also planted trees in Pung-ol Sibugay.

The CFIF donate-a-chair program is one of the many community development programs run by the foundation to extend help to the community by providing areas of civic involvement to the furniture industry.
