Oakridge marks Christmas with CSR events

-

Oakridge Realty Development Corp. (ORDC), the developer of Oakridge Business Park, marked the “Season of Giving” with a tree-planting activity in Barangay Takay, Sogod, Cebu last Dec. 21, as well as an outreach program in Banilad Elementary School last Dec. 14.

Both activities formed part of ORDC’s corporate social responsibility program dubbed as “Oakridge Cares.”

Before going on their Christmas break, at least 20 employees of ORDC and LH Paragon Inc., led by ORDC chief executive officer Edmun Liu, planted 2,000 seedlings of native and fruit-bearing trees within some four-hectare property in Sitio San Vicente, Takay, Sogod.

The program is a two-year partnership with the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc.

The group of employees also participated in an outreach program to 109 Grade 1 students of Banilad Elementary School in Barangay Banilad, Mandaue City, Cebu.

The students were shown a short video on the effects of pollution to the environment. It was followed by lunch and distribution of the Christmas goody bags.

“Our Oakridge Cares activities for the year are our way of giving back to the community and to the environment. It is a perfect reminder that amidst the hustle and bustle of the Christmas festivities, the time and effort shared with the children and in preserving Mother Earth are the most meaningful gifts we can share this season,” said Estee Plunket, ORDC director of sales and marketing.
