Global Cebu signs Jarvis

-

Jordan Jarvis returns home.

After one season with the Davao Aguilas,19-year-old Jarvis finally gets to represent his hometown as the latest signing of Global Cebu FC.

Global Cebu FC announced on its official Facebook page, that Jarvis, the reigning UAAP Rookie of the Year, signed with the club and joins fellow collegiate standouts Paolo Bugas and Paolo Salenga.

Jarvis is the second Cebuano player signed by Global Cebu FC after signing former University of San Carlos standout John Roy Melgo in the inaugural season of the Philippines Football League (PFL).

Jarvis is also an awardee of the Sportswriters Association of Cebu having suited up for the national U19 team in the past. He also played for the U23 team last year.

Global Cebu FC has had a change of ownership after MacGraphics Carranz International Corp. owner and Teen Azkals Foundation Inc. managing director Alvin Carranza bought the team from Dan Palami just last month.

The team suffered a huge blow after losing two of its key players in skipper Misagh Bahadoran and winger Hikaru Minegishi. Though it isn’t final yet, Bahadoran, one of the longest tenured players in the club, is set to join a Southeast Asian club, while Minegishi now plays for Thai club Pattaya United.

Gobal Cebu FC had an up-and-down PFL season in 2017. The Cebuano side took the fourth and finals spot to advance to the semifinals. Global Cebu FC beat No. 1 ranked FC Meralco Manila 3-2 on aggregate from late goals but was crushed by rival Ceres Negros FC, 4-1, in the PFL finals./
