No to transfer of V-hire terminal

-

Iread somewhere that the Cebu City Government is planning to transfer the V-hire terminal that is now located in Junquera St. to the South Road Properties (SRP). I and many other passengers do not like the idea.

In my talk with other passengers who are from the south of Cebu province, they said that the SRP is too far for them and could require two rides because passenger jeepneys do not pass there.

In the present location of the terminal, many passenger jeepneys pass like Lahug, Talamban, Bulacao, etc. It is very convenient for us. It is also near Colon St. where many passenger jeepneys from other routes also pass.

How will we go to the terminal if it is placed at the SRP. We could not walk to go there because it is very far. Will City Hall provide us with free rides like what a mall is doing now to its customers?

City Hall has many Kaohsiung buses. If the mayor will order that Kaohsiung buses should pick us up from Colon to the SRP, I think it would be okay. Two rides are already a problem for us because the fare would be taken from our wages.

City Hall should also provide the passengers with waiting shed because the SRP is very hot and does not have trees to protect us from the sun. In the terminal now, we have toilets. Although it is not properly cleaned and the odor is very bad, at least we have a place to relieve ourselves.--
