Anti-drug ops net 6 persons, P.5M shabu

-

Six persons were arrested and more than P500,000 worth of shabu were seized in separate anti-illegal drug operations in the cities of Talisay and Cebu over the weekend.

In Talisay, Diosdada “Inday Yawa” Aguilar, 60, and Dandin Bas, 26, who are both lechon (roasted pig) vendors, were arrested by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) yesterday dawn.

Aguilar was arrested in Sitio Maga, Barangay Tanke, after she allegedly yielded P350, 000 worth of shabu. An hour later, in Barangay Biasong, Bas was also allegedly arrested with P100, 000 worth of shabu in his possession.

Both the drug suspects denied the allegations.

In an interview with dySS, Aguilar believed that somebody just dragged her name into the drug trade. This somebody could be one of those whom she had altercation for failure to pay his/ her lechon debt or someone who is actually the drug pusher in the neighborhood.

She said that drug lords in Tanke allegedly dangled a bounty of P30,000 for her head.

Bas, on the other hand, said that he had stopped with the drug trade after he was by the barangay, and has been into selling lechon.

Both Bas and Aguilar, however, were in the PDEA 7’s watchlist.

In Cebu City, operatives from the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) arrested four persons in two drug busts in Barangays Suba and Calamba.

Juvy Taboada and Marlon Tejano were arrested in Sitio Mahayahay, Calamba with P129, 800 worth of illegal drugs, while Albert Rafols and Shani Dacua were caught in on Gen. Gines St., Suba with P8,850 worth of shabu. Shabu with a total worth of P138, 600 was confiscated. /
