Ambulance station in Kinasang-an burglarized

- JOB

After they responded to an alarm, two ambulance crew lost some of their belongings after their office inside the Kinasang-an Barangay Hall was burglarized last Saturday morning.

Ambulance personnel, Paulo Rallos, 28, and Lenylou Bayron, 25, lost a cellphone worth P6,000 and P2,500 cash.

“The suspect was already a familiar face in the area because he often stays on the rooftop of the barangay hall. We have a 5-year-old witness who pointed that it was him who carted away the cash and the cellphone,” said PO1 Mary Dela Victoria, desk officer of the Pardo Police Station.

Dela Victoria identified the alleged burglar as Ike Ocañada, 49.

“He allegedly instructed the witness to keep quiet in exchange for a P1 coin,” Dela Victoria said.

Ocañada, in an interview, denied the allegations against him.

Ocañada said that somebody should have been left to guard the office.

Kinasang-an Barangay Captain, Jefrey Navarro said that most of their personnel that day were busy because they were handing out cash assistance to senior citizens.

Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CCDRRMO) Chief, Nagiel Bañacia, in a Facebook post, said that they have now transferred the crew to the Mambaling station for safety reasons. /
