8 drug suspects in 2 towns fall

Eight suspected drug personalit­ies were caught in a series of operations in Minglanill­a and Consolacio­n in the past three days.

Some 12.65 grams of white crystals believed to be shabu worth P150,000 were seized by the anti-narcotics operatives in Minglanill­a.

Arrested were the town’s eighth most wanted suspected drug pusher, Jocelyn Basalo Alforque, and Elkie Vestil Alicaya, who was ninth on that list.

Alforque and Alicaya were caught in Sitio Nazareth, Barangay Tungkop at 6:30 p.m. last Friday and yielded 1.5 grams of illegal drugs worth P17,700.

At 7:30 a.m. last Saturday, Naga City residents Brian Villarta and Junver Baritiana were arrested in Tungkop. They yielded 10.45 grams of suspected shabu worth P123,310.

In Barangay Tunghaan that same day, Florence Ang Miranda was caught. He yielded 0.7 gram of illegal drugs worth P8,260.

In Consolacio­n, three alleged members of Ampoy Criminal Group were arrested by the team led by Chief Insp. Gerard Ace Pelare after a shootout in Sitio Pundok, Barangay Cabangahan at 3:40 p.m. last Sunday.

They are Lord Cham Marano, 20; Mariah Tomakin, 20; and Jerwin Marano Brigoli, 19.

Pelare said the suspect who escaped was possibly wounded. The shootout happened during a drug bust.

Seized were 12 small packs of suspected shabu that weighed .35 gram that’s worth P4,000, among others. /
