February glitters with the traditional Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day. Frontliners are the Chinese New Year celebrations in our leading hotels and Chinese schools. These include interesting Chinese horoscopes, dragon dances and fireworks, as well as food rituals. We look forward to all these at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino and Waterfront Airport Hotel, Casino, Marco Polo Plaza Cebu and Radisson Blu Cebu.

Shangri-La‘s Mactan Resort and Spa will celebrate the Lunar New Year with the ceremonial eye-dotting for the classic dragon dance and fireworks. The Gong Xi Fa Cai at Marco Polo will merge the lion dance; eye-dotting and Yee Sang tossing ceremony in colorful rituals.

There are also varied Valentine’s love concerts and sales.

The University of San Jose-Recoletos’ Dramatics and Cultural ensemble, Amparito L. Lhuillier Educational Foundation and WeCare scholars will have a special Valentine’s-themed one-act play today, Feb. 13: a musical, allmale spoof called “Four Grooms and a Bride!”

For decades, parents have opted for English and Math courses as basic tools in enhancing knowledge and practice. Thus, schools and learning centers offer various summer programs for these disciplines.
