■ TANDINGAN STILL IN THE COMPETITION
After landing in the bottom three of the “Singer 2018” competition last week, KZ Tandingan stays safe. Last Friday night was supposed to be an elimination night but Jessie J was sick and unable to perform.
Thanks to her idol Jessie J, KZ Tandingan can breathe a sigh of relief as she stays safe in the “Singer 2018” competition.
Last week Tandingan was in danger of being kicked out from the competition after landing in the bottom three of the contest. Last Friday night was supposed to be an elimination night but Jessie J was sick and unable to perform.
Last Sunday, Jessie J tweeted that she was sick: “Sometimes my mind is stronger than my body. Sometimes I get sick on work days. That’s all. I’m doing a lot better.”
Tandingan showed off another side of herself in the March 9 episode: She strummed the guitar singing to Sheryl Crowe’s “Real Gone” from the “Cars” movie.
And like all of her other performances in the “Singer 2018” stage, Tandingan made the song truly her own. She even changed up some of the lyrics. She started with: “Filipino-made spotlight, world stage...” The original lyrics were: “I’m American made, Bud Light, Chevrolet.”
Before the song ended, she again showcased her rapping skills in Tagalog.
Jessie J was supposed to perform Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go on.” But because she was indisposed, the elimination was cancelled.
Tandingan, Taiwan’s Angela Chang and China’s James Li were on the chopping block for getting the lowest scores.
