QUEEN ADORNED WITH A CROWN

- JOHN PAUL FAJARDO, USJ-R INTERN

long time ago, in the far away palace of Laxcomia, there lived a beautiful queen dressed in white silk. Her lips were as soft as rose petals and her cheeks blushed like pink corals.

She had a magnificent golden crown, adorned with different jewels of different shapes and sizes.

On top of her head, there were three distinct jewels that represented three important values, which when combined, established unity and prosperity in her kingdom.

These three precious jewels were the Sapphire of Peace, Ruby of Love, and the Emerald of Hope.

The queen reigned for a long century, as she was gifted with the number of days on her life for being good to her people.

One evening on the first month of the lunar year, an evil man named Vilan from the unknown place of Sittah visited Laxcomia and heard about the queen’s powerful crown.

He was jealous of the queen that he wanted all the power to himself. He planned to obtain the precious jewels.

One night, as the queen was asleep, Vilan entered the queen’s bedroom, floating like black smoke. He seized the three precious jewels from the queen’s crown and left.

When the queen woke up the next day, peace, love, and hope in her land disappeared.

The queen became gloomy and without enough strength, could not even lift her body to move.

Vilan became proud and arrogant to himself, but even having the three precious jewels, he realized later on that he had no power over them as he was full of hate and deceit.

He tried to break them in pieces, but the three precious jewels disappeared from his hands in a snap.

The queen chanted her song of praise and hummed the melodies of the calming air.

The three precious jewels then appeared back on her crown and it beamed with radiance.

Peace, Love, and Hope were restored back to her kingdom and Vilan was left powerless.
