Woman backs out of rape case vs. 3 cops

-

The 29-year-old pregnant woman who earlier claimed to have been raped by three Meycauayan, Bulacan policemen will no longer file charges, a police official said yesterday.

Sup. Romeo Caramat, Bulacan Provincial Police Office director, said they received a text message from the alleged victim who said she was no longer interested in pursuing the case for the sake of her family.

The woman earlier claimed that the three policemen - PO 2 Jefferson Landrito, PO1 Jeremy Aquino and PO1 Marlo Delos Santos - took turns in raping her on March 6.

I have lost courage because of embarassment. I leave everything to God. God knows the truth. My children are being teased in school. I have received many threats),” she said.

I know they have a conscience. God is merciful),” she said.

Despite this, Bulacan Internal Affairs Service provincial director Cristina Alcantara said they will still conduct an investigation into the alleged incident as ordered by PNP chief Ronald dela Rosa.

Alcantara said the three policemen will undergo drug testing.

On March 6, elements of the Meycauayan City police station conducted a drug bust in Bancal Extension, Barangay Bancal, where they arrested Jannet Fundales who was on the drugs watch list of the police. The alleged victim, who was Fundales’ relative, said she was in house when the policemen arrived.

Landrito, Aquino and Delos Santos allegedly took turns in raping her. The three men denied the allegations.
