Since it opened in the 1970s, Manang Julings Kilawan has become a culinary destination in Tangke, Talisay. Almost 40 years later, Cebuanos can now enjoy Talisay’s freshest catch right in Cebu City with Manang Julings’ new branch at Mango Square Mall.

The decades-old eatery has come a long way since its humble beginnings—back then it was simply called Tangke, Talisay Kilawan. Manang Julings’ seafood is sourced directly from the local fishing community, which means customers can dine assured that they are served only the best and freshest seafood Talisay has to offer.

Manang Julings Kilawan serves delicious no-frills Filipino comfort food such as kinilaw na tangigue, calamares, steamed bongkawil, sinugbang tuna belly and pinakbet, to name a few.

After being convinced by passionate customers and a persistent business partner, co-owner (and daughter of Manang Juling herself ) Sarah Suizo finally decided to open a branch in Cebu City.

“We are very excited about this venture as it has always been our dream to share our mother’s traditional, home-cooked recipes,” said Suizo.

Although the 57-year-old entrepreneur still oversees kitchen operations from time to time, the new branch enlisted the help of a chef from Manila. Aside from the sutukil (sugba, tuwa, kilaw) dishes Manang Julings is known for, there are also new items on the menu such as the seafood laing.

Manang Julings Kilawan is at Mango Square Mall on Juana Osmeña St., right across Century Plaza. Store hours are from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
