GBP PARTNERS WITH BFP IN EMPOWERING TOLEDO HOUSEHOLDS
The company’s information education campaign is an outreach program held every quarter to provide awareness on the relevant issues and to continue reaching out to its surrounding communities
“There is a need to educate every member of the household,” said Senior Fire Officer 3 Julius Dagatan of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Toledo during a forum held recently.
The activity was part of the information education and communication campaign (IEC) of the Global Business Power Corp. (GBP).
Participated in by various residents of Barangays Daanlungsod and Luray 2, Dagatan together with Senior Officer 1 Ruthie Omayan reiterated the importance of fire prevention awareness.
They also pointed out the need to keep a contact details of all concerned agencies not limiting to the Bureau of Fire.
Omayan said that based on the data they have gathered at least 73 percent of fire incidents were caused by defective electrical connections.
For the past years, GBP through its Toledo subsidiaries, Cebu Energy Development Corp., (CEDC) and Toledo Power Company (TPC), has been collaborating with BFP in the fire prevention campaign.
“There is also a need to teach our children not to play with flammable items,” said Omayan.
The GBP’s IEC is a community program done every quarter to give updates on its operations, provide awareness on the relevant issues concerning its surrounding communities and as a means of keeping an open communication.
