Town gets P20M infra projects from Capitol

Over P20 million worth of infrastructure projects were turned over by the Cebu Provincial Government to the six upland barangays in the southern town of Dumanjug, Cebu.

Gov. Hilario P. Davide III led the turnover of P20.018 million worth of roads, schools and daycare centers. With him were Rep. Peter John Calderon (Cebu, seventh district), Provincial Board Member Christopher Baricuatro, and Dumanjug Mayor Rene Asentista.

First, they turned over a two-classroom building worth P2.1 million in Tubod-Dugoan Elementary School. Barangay Tubod-Dugoan is located 15 kilometers away from the town proper.

Davide’s group then proceeded to Balaygtiki Elementary school for the turnover of the two-classroom building worth P1.98 million, which coincided with the school’s graduation ceremony.

From Barangay Balaygtiki, Davide’s team inaugurated the P13.96 million concrete road, which stretched from Barangays Ylaya to Kantangkas to Pawa.

In the highlands, Davide’s team turned over daycare centers in Barangay Bullogan worth P715,239; Barangay Kantangkas worth P730,150; and in Barangay Cotcoton worth P538,798.

Meanwhile, Davide led the turnover of school buildings in Catmon town, with a total cost of P11.694 million. This included a three-classroom building worth P2.837 million in Cabungaan Elementary School in Barangay Cabungaan, which is a joint undertaking of the Provincial Government with the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. and the local government of Catmon.

The officials also turned over P8.857 million worth newly restored 10-classroom Gabaldon building inside Catmon Integrated School.

The distribution of the infrastructure projects was part of Davide’s six-key development agenda, which includes education, infrastructure and countryside development. /
