Cebu Province, Compre A top SBP 3on3

Cebu Province and Compre A came out as winners in the SBP 3X3 Under-18 Pambansang Tatluhan after a perfect finish last Saturday in the Sisters of Mary Boystown in Minglanill­a.

Both winners took home a P10,000 cash prize and will represent the region in the National Finals on May 19 and 20 at Robinsons Place Manila.

Cebu Province 1 bagged the Boys division with an 18-10 victory over Labangon 2 in the finals.

Cebu Province 1 dominated the group stage with a 10-5 beating of SACS B, an 11-9 win over Labangon 3 and a 8-2 demolition of Abellana National School (ANS).

Cebu Province 1 walked out with a 17-12 victory over Cebu Elite 1 in the quarterfin­als before a 12-8 win against ANS 4 in semifinals.

Cebu Province 1 is made up of Renzo Dominik Abines, Juan Raphael Garro, Justin Atilano and Khadshien Paul Tagalog.

Labangon 2 is composed of Daryll Ebale, Frankie John Dela Cruz and John Jessi Tangkay.

Meanwhile, ANS 4 crushed Mandaue, 11-5, to win third place honors.

Compre A, on the other hand, squeaked past Minglanill­a A, 9-7, to win the title in the Girls division.

Compre A finally took home a crown this year after finishing first runner-up in both the Under-17 and Under-15 3x3 tournament­s. The squad is composed of Mary Grace Cogtas, Shen Camay, Mary Angel Dignos and Jesarine Jhoy Soco.

Compre A started its campaign with a 5-3 win over City of Naga 2, followed by an 18-7 beating of Luke Basketball B and an 11-2 rout of Minglanill­a.
