Second case in 3 days: Woman hacked by partner

Two days after a wife was killed by her own husband in Barangay Umapad, Mandaue City, another woman was hacked and killed by her live-in partner in Barangay Labogon yesterday.

Danilo Lacno, 41, killed Analiza Lacno, 42, inside their house in Sitio Upper Labogon at 8:30 a.m. after he learned that the victim allegedly had an affair with another man.

Danilo then committed suicide by stabbing himself.

PO1 Ravin Anor of Mandaue Police Station 3 said that Danilo stabbed Analiza using a bolo that the former owned.

“Adunay silingan nakakita gusto unta motabang pero nakakita man siya ni Danilo nagdala og sundang (A neighbor wanted to help but saw Danilo wielding the bolo),” he said.

Anor said Analiza was married to Danilo’s older brother, Ronel, but they separated.

Ronel and Analiza’s marriage was not yet annulled, which is why she was still using her previous husband’s last name.

Anor said Analiza and Danilo had been living together for five months.

Danilo believed that Analiza had a relationship with another man living in a neighboring sitio.

Analiza succumbed to wounds in her body.

Danilo then stabbed his stomach and was rushed to Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center, where was declared dead./
