The Canadian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (CanCham) Cebu Chapter held its annual plenary session last Tuesday in the Pearl Room of Harold’s Hotel.

The meeting formally opened with welcoming remarks from Cebu Chapter Chairman Felix “Boy” Tiukinhoy. Thereafter, CanCham National President Julian Payne, followed with the presentation and the discussion of Chamber membership trends, upcoming national events, and the action plan slated for 2018.

The meeting highlighted the Chamber’s plans to grow its membership base nationwide and to organize more activities that foster and expand Philippine-Canadian businesses for its current members. Such activities include the Trade Mission to Canada and Business Forums that showcase trade and export opportunities for the Chamber’s members.

Also in attendance was the Hon. Consulate of Canada in Cebu Ms. Katherine Rivera, who was also the plenary’s guest Speaker. Consul Rivera delivered a talk on the role of an honorary consul in Cebu, where she discussed the specifics of her duties in relation to the Visayas and Mindanao regions. This was then followed by a thorough interaction with the attendees.

CanCham Cebu holds monthly business seminars that keep its members abreast on the current business and lifestyle trends that enhance Philippine-Canadian business relations. /
