'BETS CAN ONLY SPEND P5 PER VOTER'

A Commission on Elections (Comelec) official has reminded candidates in the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections to stick to the maximum PHP5 expenditure per registered voter, as stipulated in the Fair Elections Act. “Under the Fair Elections Act, campaign overspending may result in disqualification from holding office,” Robert Fernandez, the Municipal Election Officer of Sarrat town, said Wednesday as he explained several guidelines from the Comelec that must be followed by aspiring candidates. /
